Art Contest

The ISM 5th annual Art Contest sponsored by the APA in the Primary School was a terrific success.  The theme this year was 'Under the Sea' and over children from Nursery to Year 6 participated.  Well done to all those who took part and helped to organise the event. Hallowe'en

Hallowe'en was a lot of fun again this year. We all had a lot fun dressing up in scary costumes and having parties. We also enjoyed our lunch of rats tails, fried brains with blood sauce and juicy eyeballs for dessert.

ISM at the Bonn United Nations Conference

At the beginning of September ISM was very proud to be involved in the 64th Annual UN Conference, entitled "Sustainable Societies, Responsive Citizens". Mr Wickham, Head of Secondary led a workshop entitled “What can I do? I’m only a volunteer”, focusing on the ‘ethical aspects of efficacious volunteerism’. As seen in the picture, he was assisted by an ISM student. The purpose of the workshop was to try to convey that sustainable societies are only possible if their lasting relationships are founded and built on peace and intelligent harmony. ISM’s philosophy is in direct accord with these aims.

Sports Day

Our annual Sports Days at Primary were held on 11th and 12th  April this year. The children demonstrated their physical skills and also took part in a number of fun races. Everyone had a fantastic time in the glorious sunshine!

Thanks to Mr Daniel for organising the events and thanks to all of the parents who came along to support their children.

Musical Evening

The first of this year's Musical Evenings was held in the theatre on 31st March. The evening featured a mix of instrumentalists, vocalists and dancers and once again the standard was incredibly high. Many thanks to Mr Roberto for organising this wonderful event and to all the children who took part.

Money Talk!

We were very fortunate recently when the well known Spanish economist, Ramon Tamames, gave a talk to Years 10 to 13 on the present and future state of the world economy.

Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards

Following on from last year’s success, we came first equal this year in Spain in the Cambridge Learner Awards (IGCSEs and A levels), with seven awards out of the 71 in Spain. María obtained three of these (top in Spain for AS Business Studies, AS Mathematics and AS Literature in English) and it is not surprising that she has been awarded a place at Pembroke College, Oxford. Other Top in Spain award winners were Cristinafor A level Mathematics, Pablo (IGCSE Economics), Laura  (AS General Studies) and Emilie (AS History). Some students obtained 100% in their AS exams!

Congratulations to María and the other students who gained these prestigious awards!

Mamma Mia

Congratulations to all involved in the Secondary production of Mamma Mia! on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th March. The show was a tremendous success.

Christmas Shows

Many thanks to all of the children, parents and teachers who helped to make this year's Christmas performances such a great success. Foundation Stage performed some Christmas classics, KS1 presented 'Shine, Star, Shine' and in KS2 we had 'Off to Bethlehem' and 'Countdown to Christmas'.

Spanish Olympic Team Visit

We were recently very fortunate to be joined in by members of the Spanish Olympic team, who demonstrated the use of equipment to children in Years 8 and 9 in Secondary and Years 4 and 5 in Primary.
