Secondary News Congratulations to the Year 8 drama students who performed some very interesting versions of some classic tales to the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 before Christmas. We were also very lucky to be invited to a road safety roadshow, an initiative of the local authority. Our end of term outing (ice-skating, bowling and the cinema) and our Christmas Prom were also a great sucess. |

ICS Mini Model United Nations On 14th and 15th June some enthusiastic Secondary students volunteered to attend the mini-MUN conference at ICS. On Thursday morning all students were divided into their committees and had to make agreements and persuade other countries to write a resolution with their country, which would be debated in the committee debates later on. These were followed by the General Assembly where the resolutions that passed in the committee debates were debated. |

World Book Day
World Book Day was celebrated on 23rd April. In Secondary, each form decorated their tutor room to represent a book of their choice and the students and teachers dressed up as characters from the book they had chosen. A number of contests and events were held during the day, including an attempt by some pupils from 8R to organise a way to beat the record of the most people dressed up as a character from a book reading at the same time. Well done to all involved!

ISM at the Bonn United Nations Conference At the beginning of September ISM was very proud to be involved in the 64th Annual UN Conference, entitled "Sustainable Societies, Responsive Citizens". Mr Wickham, Head of Secondary led a workshop entitled “What can I do? I’m only a volunteer”, focusing on the ‘ethical aspects of efficacious volunteerism’. As seen in the picture, he was assisted by an ISM student. The purpose of the workshop was to try to convey that sustainable societies are only possible if their lasting relationships are founded and built on peace and intelligent harmony. ISM’s philosophy is in direct accord with these aims. |
